The Latter Day Saint Shout Outs

LDS Temple Trips/Mormon Travel

Every year, my husband and I take groups of people on LDS Temple Trips.  My husband usually uses almost all of his vacation time at work in order to do them.  This means that we can only offer 2-4 a year depending on our other obligations.  In 2008 We have had the privledge of going on a Branson/Texas LDS Temple tour in April, a trip to Las Vegas and St. George Temples with Tuachan shows in June and a Missouri/Nauvoo Temple tour in September.  We were able to visit Oklahoma City Temple, Dallas Texas Temple, Austin Texas Temple, Austin Texas Temple, St.George Utah Temple, Las Vegas Nevada Temple, Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple, St. Louis Missouri Temple and the Nauvoo Illinois Temple.

Going on these trips with such wonderful people has strengthened our family.  We like to bring at least one of our children with us on each trip.  Our children range in ages from 17-3 .  They have been influenced by all of the people we take with us who love to visit the Houses of the Lord.  As a mother, I don’t think I could ask for a greater blessing.  Putting these trips together is a work of love.  We want to make sure we don’t go into the red financially on them, but we haven’t always been concerned about making any money with them.  My husband and I feel strongly that if we made this into something we depended on for a living, it would take the sweetness out of it and the real payment, (blessings to our family) might stop.  I don’t think we could take the deduction on payment.  Our children need those blessings.  Mormon travel has never been so sweet.
